Job Tasks: I'm responsible for all sales and marketing efforts for full service hotel in downtown Boston.

I execute all pre-opening activities of sales, catering, reservations, on-line marketing, traditional communications and public relations for a 225 room, four-diamond, full service hotel.

To give you an idea of what I do in my job, here are a list of some of my accomplishments and duties:

  • Signed over 50 transient preferred accounts in year one, a list that now exceeds 150 top accounts.
  • Successfully secured the hotel’s top four major clients yielding over 1000 room nights per account annually from direct competitors.
  • Built a database of over 8,500 e-mail addresses for direct marketing purposes.
  • Hired qualified candidates for the Sales & Marketing Department and presently ensure an efficient and effective organization structure.
  • Developed all pre and post-opening Sales and Marketing collateral, contracts, and client correspondence
  • Developed, implemented and keep current the hotel’s Marketing Plan and Sales & Marketing manual.
  • Develop the hotel’s annual budget in conjunction with the Executive Team
  • Develop sales strategies designed to maximize revenue and yield.
  • Participate in the development of yield management strategies for the hotel
  • Create and implement marketing strategies which are designed to increase awareness in the local market.
  • Develop and implement all public relations and advertising campaigns
  • Responsible for ordering and creating all hotel collateral.
  • Ensure all materials used to market the hotel are in accordance with brand standards
  • Develop and implement annual sales goals for sales team which are aligned with the hotel’s overall revenue goals
  • Helped foster and maintain a culture of genuine service
  • Conduct weekly sales & marketing meetings to critique sales activities and educate sales personnel on new information concerning hotel policies, programs and immediate sales leads etc.
  • Coach leaders of revenue generating departments within the hotel in developing effective revenue strategies and setting aggressive goals that will drive the property's financial performance.
  • Best and Worst Parts of the Job: I like every aspect of my job. The only down side is working a few late nights and weekends
