There is not much left in Vina these days. The last time I was there was in 2004. There was one store/gas station left, everything else had "burned down". When I was a kid (35+ years ago), Vina was a lot of small town fun. Weekend auctions, the game room, high school football games, family and friends that I only got to see once a year. I sure do miss those times, but I know the place will never be the same. There are some really nice cabins that can be rented at Little Bear-we stayed there during my last visit. The rates are reasonable and like I said the cabins are nice. If you want to get away from EVERYTHING-visit Vina, Alabama. While you're there take the time and drive to Huntsville to see the NASA Space Center.
