Introduction to Colorado City, Arizona
Colorado City is very closely affiliated with Hildale, Utah. The residents of both towns are nearly all members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In December of 2005 the Phoenix New Times published an article that revealed that the community in both towns actively practice polygamy. Evidently, this got revealed due to the discovery that residents there had an unusually high percentage of fumarase deficiency, a disease that develops from substantial inbreeding.
