Home to Disneyland, the Angels of Anaheim, the Anaheim Ducks and the original Carl Jr.'s restaurant, Anaheim has often been right at the center of pop culture history. With massive events centers (including the largest convention center on the west coast) and more than a few award-winning restaurants, there is never a shortage of fun to be had in this city of more than 350,000 people.
In addition to the city's cultural opportunities, the impressive number of colleges and universities in Anaheim can make it a great place to earn a degree and launch a career.
Anaheim is filled with possibility for trade and technical students. Small private institutions, such as Brownson Technical School, American Career College and United Education Institute (UEI) offer a handful of programs with small teacher-student ratios and hands-on learning. Though many of the career-based programs are designed to help students to move into the workplace quickly, some of the associate programs are designed as a stepping stone to the bachelor's degree. UEI's medical assistant program is the school's most popular one.
Those seeking a bachelor's degree can turn to several colleges in Anaheim. A few options include the not-for profit institution Bethesda University, where students can further their education in a Christian-based setting. Bethesda offers bachelor's programs in early childhood education, business administration, music, and religion. The religion program has four different concentrations.
Other four-year Anaheim institutions West Coast University, which offers bachelor's programs in dental hygiene and nursing. The Southern California Institute of Technology has three different bachelor's programs in engineering, as well as a B.S. program in information systems.
Universities in Anaheim also offer excellent opportunities for graduate education. California University of Management and Sciences offers five master's degree options at the Anaheim campus. South Baylo University caters to a very specific profession with master's and doctoral programs in acupuncture. Bethesda University boasts three graduate programs in ministry and divinity, one for the MBA and a master's degree program in music. West Coast University offers numerous online graduate degree programs related to healthcare.
