King City History

King City, a Spanish land grant, was originally known as the King's City. It was acquired by Charles King in 1884. He started a ranch in the northern part of the city and started growing wheat. In 1886, with the help of the Southern Pacific Railroad services, the city began to transport wheat to San Francisco and Los Angeles. In 1911, King City was incorporated and gradually became a thriving business and agricultural community.

King City offers numerous recreational activities. In the Public Golf Course you can find a nine-hole course with driving range.
