Laguna Woods is both one of newest and oldest cities of California. The city was incorporated in the year 1999 as the 32nd city of Orange County. The average age of Laguna Woods residents is 78. Ninety percent of the city's 4 square miles is contained within the gated senior citizen community known as 'Leisure World.' The rest of the city includes three additional senior residential communities and several prosperous commercial centers.
