Lemoore History

The earliest modern inhabitant of this area was Dr. Lovern Lee Moore, a man of great vision who brought together the scattered farm families of the area to function as a group. He helped to develop community and business in this area and he was also instrumental in establishing the areas first post office in 1873, which was named after him. The area was incorporated as a city in 1900.
