Los Altos, California, in Santa Clara county, is 1 miles W of Mountain View, California (center to center) and 12 miles W of San Jose, California. The city benefits from easy access to the nearby cities and towns with which it shares the San Jose metropolitan area. Los Altos contains a population of approximately 27,693.
In Los Altos, about 69% of adults are married. Married couples seem to be the rule in Los Altos, at least compared to other cities of its size.
