Pleasant Hill History
The area that is now known as City of Pleasant Hill grew from farmland into a bedroom community during World War II. The residents of Pleasant Hill voted to incorporate in 1961. In the early 1970s, the City of Pleasant Hill explored various ways to achieve its vision and finally, in 1974, it adopted the Pleasant Hill Commons Redevelopment Plan. This was authorized by the state Community Redevelopment Law.
