Introduction to Willits, California
Willits, which was formerly known as Willitsville, is located in the centre of Mendocino County of California. The Californian Pomo Indians community of Sherwood Valley Rancheria has its headquarters here. Willits, which covers 28 square miles, derives its income from the sale of marijuana which is widely cultivated here. The Willits Depot, which was built in the year 1915, is registered as a National Historic Place. Seascape painter, Marshall Merritt had a studio in this city.

Things To Do In Willits
Willits offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities. Bale Grist Mill State Historic Park has a water powered grist mill which was built in 1846. One can also plan a day trip to the Fort Ross State Historic Park and the Luther Burbank Home and Gardens. This city is home to the Grace Hudson Museum that has collections of Pomo Indian artifacts, photos, and paintings by Grace Hudson. The Mendocino Woodlands State Park, which has Redwood forest, as well as the Admiral Standley State Recreation Area, are other places worth paying visits to.
