Introduction to Suffield, Connecticut
The area now known as Suffield was once named Southfield. It was originally incorporated on May 20, 1674. At that time, it was a part of Massachusetts. The town of Suffield was annexed by Connecticut in 1749 and was reincorporated in March 1682.
