Oldsmar, Florida, in Pinellas county, is 6 miles SE of Palm Harbor, Florida (center to center) and 14 miles NW of Tampa, Florida. The city is considered part of the Tampa - Saint Petersburg - Clearwater metropolitan area. Oldsmar has a population of 11,910.

Oldsmar History

The history of Oldsmar dates back to 1913 when the automobile pioneer Ransom E. Olds bought 37,541 acres of land in the northern part of Tampa Bay. He established the “R. E. Olds-on-the-Bay” in this area. In 1927 the name of the town was changed to Tampa Shores. However, it was again renamed as Oldsmar in 1937.
