Ahuimanu is situated in the City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii. In the Hawaiian language, the name means 'cluster of birds'. Hawaiian history is linked to the early Polynesian settlement, the arrival of the British, the Asian as well as the Euro - American immigration and the downfall of the Hawaiian monarchy. Hawaii had a brief existence as a Republic, and was admitted to the United States as a territory, and later on became a state. The City and County of Honolulu was incorporated in the year 1907.
