Rexburg, Idaho, in Madison county, is located 28 miles NE of Idaho Falls, Idah (center to center) and 450 miles NW of Denver, Colorado. As of the year 2000 census, 17,257 people reside in Rexburg.
Rexburg History
Rexburg was first settled by the fur trappers in the late 1800s. The city was founded by Thomas E. Ricks. In fact, the area was also named in the honor of its founder. It was originally named as Ricksburg, however later on it was changed to Rexburg. The first log house of the area was constructed in 1883. The Utah Northern Railroad first entered the city in 1899. The city of Rexburg is the county seat of Madison County, which was formed on February 18, 1913.

While in Rexburg you can visit the Harriman State Park, Grand Teton National Park, Henry's Lake State Park, and Yellowstone National Park. Visitors can also spend their free hours at the Teton Dam Flood Museum and at the Splash Park.
