Itasca, Illinois, in Du Page county, is 6 miles SE of Schaumburg, Illinois and 20 miles W of Chicago, Illinois. The village has a population of 8,302.

Itasca History

This area was first settled in permanently by Dr. Elijah Smith in 1841. Smith arrived from New York to continue his medical practice and begin farming. The first post office was first established in 1846. Itasca was incorporated in 1890.
