Jerome, Illinois, in Sangamon county, is 3 miles SW of Springfield, Illinois (center to center) and 85 miles NE of St. Louis, Missouri. The village is included in the Springfield metropolitan area. As of the year 2000 census, 1,414 people lived in Jerome.
