Manhattan, Illinois, in Will county, is 8 miles SE of Joliet, Illinois (center to center) and 35 miles SW of Chicago, Illinois. The village is included in the Chicago metropolitan area. As of the year 2000 census, 3,330 people lived in Manhattan.
In Manhattan, about 67% of adults are married. Manhattan is one of those places you go to when you're already married, not to find someone. It seems that everyone in village is married (though of course they're not). Large families and residences are common here. Watch out for that stroller!
