Round Lake Beach History
The residential development in Round Lake Beach was hastened when Chicago magazine publisher, Curtis Howe Springer, offered a home in Round Lake Beach as a contest prize. Moreover, during the Depression, homes in this village were offered at rock-bottom prices by developer L.B. Harris. The population gradually increased and Round Lake Beach was incorporated as a village in 1937.
