Schiller Park, Illinois, in Cook county, is 5 miles S of Des Plaines, Illinois and 13 miles NW of Chicago, Illinois. The village is located in the Chicago metropolitan area. As of the year 2000 census, 11,850 people lived in Schiller Park.

Schiller Park History

Alexander Robinson bought two square miles of land in the late 19th century, on which the foundation of Schiller Park was laid. The village was first incorporated in 1914 under the name of Kolze. In 1926, it was renamed Schiller Park. The village is mostly occupied by farming communities.
