Connersville History

Connersville was named after early settler John Conner. It was an important center for the manufacture of automobiles, and was referred to as “Little Detroit” in the early years of the 20th century. Connersville’s role in automobile manufacturing ended when the Visteon factory shut down in 2007.

Things To Do In Connersville

The city hosts a number of local celebrations around the year. The MudFest is one such event which is organized every July. The festival features over a hundred volleyball teams in a specially prepared muddy court at Roberts Park. The other popular event is the Heritage MusicFest which is organized every June. It is held at the camp ground near Whitewater River and features performances by local bands.
