The People and Families of Nashville

In Nashville, about 39% of adults are married. Nashville is a place where you'll find a lot of people living alone in their apartments or homes. It's not a place just for families. Though it's not a singles bar, single people will feel at home in the town; the town has more single adults than most places of its size.

In Nashville, females are somewhat more common than males. If you spend a lot of time in the town, you'll notice that retired and elderly people are a common sight.

Wealth and Education

In 2000, Nashville had a median family income of $38,750. Significantly, more adults in Nashville have earned college degrees than have people in most other towns in Indiana. In the town, a noticeable number of people work from home rather than commuting every day. (Whether or not they're interested in marriage, it's worth noting that there are a lot of high-income single people in Nashville.)

Political Inclinations

Nashville residents donated more money ($1,700) to John Kerry than to the other candidates in the 2004 Presidential race. Across all electoral races, the Democratic party attracted the most donations from the town.

Nashville Housing

An estimated 49% of living spaces in Nashville are occupied by their owners, not by renters. Living alone is quite feasible in the town, with the choice of small rental properties there. Optimists try to see the higher property taxes in Nashville as a sign of wealth and desirability.

Commuting

In Nashville, 86% of commuters drive to work. Walking to work is pretty rare in the town.
