Fort Dodge History

Fort Dodge was named for the fort, established in 1850, in the honor of the U.S. senator from Wisconsin named Henry Dodge. It is the county seat of Webster County, which was founded on January 15, 1851 and was named after an American statesman called Daniel Webster.
