My husband and I recently purchased a home in Pisgah. Family and friends asked why in the world we would buy a home in Pisgah because our jobs are in Omaha. I asked them why in the world wouldn't I. With the state forest so near and Pisgah being home of Loess Hills. I've never seen such beauty with incredible landscapes and such an abbundance of wildlife. You can usually see turkey, deer and pheasant on any given day. Not to mention the beautiful unique birds that occupy the area. I've never seen such a variety of trees like Oak, Maple, and Cottonwood to name a few. Pisgah is about one hour from where I work and I wouldn't have it any other way. When I leave the city each day I look forward to arriving home to enjoy peace and solitude. The area has a lot to offer especially for families. Great schools, many churches to choose from and good old fashion morals and standards. Where else will your neighbor wave at you when you pass by. Certainly not in the city. This way of life is what makes Pisgah a place like no other and I wouldn't want it any other way.

The best thing about Pisgah, Ia is the morals and values. My family and I moved here in 2004 and found where my husband and I could raise our girls and be at peace with them running free outside. My children are being raised with nature not pollution and brick buildings and noisy vehicles. The town is full of wise elderly folks who are never afraid to give their opinion. I love the advice and direction that they provide (asked or not asked).
Since we have moved here we have now added to the population four girls. We are helping rebuild Pisgah to keep this town thriving after we are gone. My girls now say "Mom, I don't want to go to the city", which is music to my ears. Where else could you move to where a town puts themselves as your children's surragate grandparents and thrive on good old family values. Bringing values and morals and games of Red Rover and Mother May I? back. Shutting down the playstations and other gaming toys for exercise, laughter, joy, and family time.
Yes, the commute to Omaha may be an hour long, but the enjoyment of smiling children, people who are more than neighbors, and the scenery (which in itself it enough to move here) are worth the travel time. We thank the town of Pisgah for being home.
