Coffeyville History

Coffeyville was named after James A. Coffey who was one of the early settlers of the area. It was founded in 1869 as a trading post. It began to grow after the Leavenworth, Lawrence & Galveston Railroad arrived in 1871. Coffeyville was incorporated in March 1873.
