Mulvane was founded in the year 1879 at the intersection of five Santa Fe rail lines. The City is located in the Summer County in the Wichita metro area. The city of Mulvane was named after Joab R. Mulvane who came to Kansas City in the year 1876. He left a lasting impression in the history of Mulvane as he developed business in this area by bringing shipping logistics and by building several rail roads. In fact, Mr. Mulvane was responsible for the developing the Junction City.
