Ottawa, Kansas, in Franklin county, is located 24 miles S of Lawrence, Kansas (center to center) and is 50 miles SW of City, Missouri. The city has a population of 11,921.
Ottawa History
The city of Ottawa is the county seat of Franklin County, and is located in the Kansas City metro area. The community was named after the Indian tribe which lived in the area from 1837 to 1867 and donated the land for Ottawa University. The city is one of the most populous cities of Franklin County.

There are several museums and amusement parks in Ottawa. One can also take a stroll along the Clinton State Park that borders the Clinton Lake. Annula festivals like the Franklin County Fair and Old West Cowboy Days are hosted by the city.
