Parsons History

Parsons was named in honor of Levi Parsons, the president of Missouri - Kansas - Texas (Katy) Railroad. It was established in 1870 and was incorporated in 1871. At the time of World War II, Parson housed the Kansas Ordnance Plant. Later this plant functioned as the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant.
