Douglass Hills has a population of 5,718 residents.
Douglass Hills History
One of the early settlers of Douglas Hills was John Womack. In 1813 he married Sarah Boone Bryan. He built a beautiful brick house for her at the then west end of Middletown. Womack was one of the prominent citizens of the city at that time. His property was later owned by a Swizz immigrant, named icholas Finzer. The property was further sold to Col. James J. Douglas by the widow of Finzer. Douglass’s estate was known as the Douglass estate. The Douglass property was demolished and the farmland was developed into a residential area in the early 1970s. The place was thus named Douglass Hills and was incorporated as a city in the year 1973.
