Introduction to Hillview, Kentucky
Hillview, Kentucky, in Bullitt county, is 13 miles S of Louisville, Kentucky. The city is located in the Louisville metropolitan area. Hillview has a population of 7,037.
Hillview History
Hillview was formerly a rural faming community and remained so for a long time. Recognized as a suburb of Louisville, the city grew through the 1950s and 1960s. In fact, the community started to grow in 1954 with the construction of the Kentucky Turnpike. The larger subdivisions which included Lone Acres, Maryville, and Overdale incorporated to form Hillview in 1974.

While in Hillview the history buffs can visit the Farmington Historic Home and Kentucky Derby Museum. My Old Kentucky Home State Park and Taylorsville Lake State Park come with recreational facilities that are enjoyed by the people here. Thomas Edison House is another popular site which is frequently visited by tourists.
