Lawrenceburg History

Originally, a German immigrant called Jacob Kaufman came to Lawrenceburg in the early 1780s. The area was first named Kaufman’s Station. The first post office of the city was set up in 1817. The city was named Lawrenceburg in 1827 honoring William Lawrence, a local tavern owner.
