Middlesborough History

The city of Middlesborough is located in Bell County. The city was incorporated in the year 1890 and was named after the town of Middlesbrough in North Yorkshire. The first white man known to pass through this region was Mr. Gabriel Arthur. In 1750, he was followed by Dr. Thomas Walker and Daniel Boone in 1769. In the year 1886, Alexander Alan Arthur saw great potential in the Middleborough region and started surveying the land for development. He also raised fund to develop the city.
