Louisiana is home to almost 150 universities, trade and technical schools. Public colleges and universities in Louisiana include:
Associate, bachelor's and graduate degree programs are available at both public and private universities in Louisiana. MBA programs are available at 19 business schools in the state.
Tulane University, one of the most prestigious research universities in the U.S., offers more than 75 undergraduate majors. This private school is based in New Orleans and serves more than 13,000 students.
Louisiana Online allows students to access public Louisiana colleges that offer online and hybrid degree programs and courses. Louisiana participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA), which makes it easier for students to take online courses offered by postsecondary institutions based in other states. SARA is an agreement among member states, districts and territories that sets national standards for postsecondary distance education courses and programs.
LSU's Dual Enrollment (DE) Program allows high school students to take any of 39 LSU courses in participating high schools to earn LSU and high school credit at the same time. Louisiana's Transfer Degree Guarantee helps qualifying students transfer from a 2-year or community college to a public 4-year university in Louisiana.
