Louisiana graduate schools awarded over 1273 graduate degrees from 25 colleges in 2008-2009. New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Thibodaux and Lafayette have the greatest number of graduate schools in Louisiana. Popular graduate degree programs include Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Masters in Nursing (MSN) and Masters in Public Health (MPH).
There are 19 business schools in Louisiana that offer MBA programs. There are many types of MBA degrees including an MBA in Accounting, Economics, Entrepreneurial Management, Finance, Marketing, Operations and Technology Management. In addition to traditional Louisiana business schools, students may now access graduate programs online. This is particularly important for students who do not have access to a program locally.
