The town of Ida came into existance in 1897 when the first post office became part of the then Chandler store at which time the town was named Ida, after the daughter of J.R. Chandler. Ida became an incorporated village in the late 1960's. The village has three (3)Alderman and Mayor. The town has a public water system and is in the process of installing a public waste water system. Ida will soon have Interstate I-49 Located within the city limits and 1/2 mile from the center of town. Ida has three churches, a public library, post office, fire department, masonic lodge, community center, museum and several busineses. We welcome all visitors to come see our clean, quaint and friendly village.
