Introduction to Kaplan, Louisiana
Kaplan was named honoring Abrom Kaplan, who established the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in 1896. Abrom Kaplan was a Russian immigrant who founded the community of Kaplan in October of 1902. The first school of the area was established in 1903. The Kaplan Telephone Company began operating in 1916.
