Easthampton, Massachusetts, in Hampshire county, is 9 miles N of Chicopee, Massachusetts and 82 miles W of Boston, Massachusetts.The city is included in the Springfield metropolitan area. As of the year 2000 census, 15,994 people lived in Easthampton.

Easthampton History

The town of Easthampton was first settled by European immigrants in 1664. The region was originally considered a part of Northampton. In 1785, the village of Easthampton officially had its own separate political entity. Twenty fours years later, it was officially incorporated as a town. Before the effects of the industrial revolution hit the town, it was a strictly agricultural community.
