Marlborough History

Marlborough, also known as Marlboro, was primarily inhabited by the Pennacook Native Americans. Marlborough got its name after the market town in Wiltshire, England. The first urban settlement took place in 1657. The city was officially incorporated in the year 1660. Marlborough was one of the renowned "Praying Indian Towns" because of the widespread impact of Christianity.
