West Boylston History
West Boylston, which was originally part of the towns of Boylston, Lancaster, Sterling, Shrewsbury, and Holden, was officially incorporated in 1808. It became a prosperous community in the 1800s with several textile and other industries. The Wachusett Reservoir, which was established in 1905 to provide water for Boston, was first filled in May 1908. The town is located in Worcester County, which was founded on April 2, 1731.
