Introduction to Weston, Massachusetts
The early settlers of this area realized that this area had limited agricultural potential due to the rugged land and limited waterpower. But the colonists who came in the middle of 17th century established scattered farms in the area. This was followed by the building of several taverns and a saw mill. During the 1870s people from Boston started building substantial country estates here, thus establishing the prosperous residential image of the town we know today.
