Not only are the taxes higher then most cities in Michigan, the increases now are not called taxes but fees. Instead of one or two lines on the tax bill, there are now six or seven. The library tax was implemented without the vote of the people, some 1880 law.
I am a 38 year resident of Clawson i moved here is the 1969 so we could afford to let my children could go to private school, the resident on my right two years ago paid 200,000 for his house; this week the nicest house on the street went on the market for 184,000.
It was a nice place to raise the 5 kids over all, but now there are 4-5 houses per block up for sale.
