Michigan graduate schools awarded over 2799 graduate degrees from 44 colleges in 2008-2009. Detroit, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Flint and East Lansing have the greatest number of graduate schools in Michigan. Popular graduate degree programs include Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Masters in Nursing (MSN) and Masters in Public Health (MPH).

There are 41 business schools in Michigan that offer MBA programs. There are many types of MBA degrees including an MBA in Accounting, Economics, Entrepreneurial Management, Finance, Marketing, Operations and Technology Management. In addition to traditional Michigan business schools, students may now access graduate programs online. This is particularly important for students who do not have access to a program locally.
