Sparta, Michigan, in Kent county, is 13 miles N of Grand Rapids, Michigan (center to center) and 111 miles E of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The village is included in the Grand Rapids - Muskegon - Holland metropolitan area. As of the year 2000 census, 4,159 people lived in Sparta.
