Grandview, Missouri, in Jackson county, is located 10 miles SE of Overland Park, Kansas and 15 miles S of Kansas City, Missouri. The city is located in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Grandview has a population of 24,881.

Grandview History

Grandview was originally known a small farming community as was known as Anderson District. It was named after John Anderson; the owner of the first general store of the area. The city adopted its present name in the late 1800s. The Kansas City Southern railroad opened a terminal in the city in 1912. Grandview is the hometown of Harry S. Truman, the 33rd President of the United States.
