Introduction to Hastings, Nebraska
Hastings is the county seat of Adams County. The community was founded in 1872. The Burlington and Missouri River Railroad arrived in the same year. The city was named after Colonel Thomas D. Hastings. The community was incorporated in 1874. The area is home to Hastings College, which was established in 1882. Edwin Perkings invented 'Kool - Aid' in Hastings in 1927.
