Exeter, New Hampshire, in Rockingham county, is 15 miles NE of Haverhill, Massachusetts and 43 miles N of Boston, Massachusetts. There are 14,058 residents in the town.

Exeter History

Originally inhabited by Squamscott Indians, the land on which Exeter stand today was purchased from the Native Americans by Reverend John Wheelwright in 1638. The town began with a population of 175 and was named after Exeter in Devon, England. In 1639, the Exeter Combination was signed so the community could begin to operate its own government.
