Exeter, New Hampshire, in Rockingham county, is 15 miles NE of Haverhill, Massachusetts and 43 miles N of Boston, Massachusetts.

Exeter History

Originally inhabited by Squamscott Indians, the land on which Exeter stand today was purchased from the Native Americans by Reverend John Wheelwright in 1638. The town began with a population of 175 and was named after Exeter in Devon, England. In 1639, the Exeter Combination was signed so the community could begin to operate its own government.
