Beachwood History

Bertram Chapman Mayo founded Beachwood in 1914 by inviting people through the New York Tribune to come and purchase lots in the beautiful area. The gimmick was successful and many people showed up to buy the lots. The community grew quickly and was officially incorporated in 1917.
