Evesham, New Jersey is 9 miles SE of Cherry Hill, New Jersey and 15 miles SE of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is in Burlington County. The town is part of the Philadelphia metro area. The population of Evesham is 42,275.
Evesham was first settled in 1672 by Quakers. The town was named after Evesham, England. Originally, Evesham included the present day township of Hainesport, Mount Laurel, Shamong, Lumberton and Washington. In 1692, it was incorporated as a township. The town is also known as Marlton. This name came about in the beginning of the 19th century.
