Manchester, New Jersey, in Ocean county, is 6 miles W of Toms River, New Jersey and 44 miles E of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The town benefits from easy access to the nearby cities and towns with which it shares the Monmouth - Ocean metropolitan area. Manchester contains a population of approximately 38,928.

Manchester History

On March 23, 1899, Manchester Township was officially incorporated. Prior to that, the township was a part of the present day Toms River Township. Until April 7, 1921, Manchester Township also included parts of what is now known as Lakehurst. The town was named after Manchester, England.
