Readington History
Readington was created by the Royal Charter of King George II, and officially incorporated on February 21, 1798. The Dutch were among the earliest settlers in the region. The town was named after Governor John Reading. Currently, this town ranks among the highest-income places in the United States, and has a population of at least 10,000.
