River Edge, New Jersey, in Bergen county, is 6 miles NE of Passaic, New Jersey and 13 miles N of New York, New York. Part of the surrounding Bergen - Passaic metro area, River Edge is home to some 10,946 residents.

River Edge History

River Edge was originally known as Riverside. It was officially incorporated as the Borough of Riverside in June 1894. It was formed from portions of land taken from Midland Township. In December of 1930, its name was changed to River Edge.
